The Atlanta Shortstops - Saving Second Base since 2008!NiaMassage in the community

I am a Positive Attitude Adjuster, otherwise known as a Massage Therapist of almost 10 years. A 'nurturer-by-nature', I decided to go to school in Washington State, after several people in my life recommended that I'd be a great therapist. Because this was a recurring comment that was repeated in my personal interactions, I understood that the universe was giving me a hint and a half. I have been volunteering in various community events since 2003.

During the TeamWalk for Cancer Care at Tsongas Arena, in Lowell, MA, I volunteered pre & post-massage therapy to cancer survivors and their team members from 2002-2004. I was named to the Next Mile sponsor level in 2004 for volunteering there.

During the Ninth Annual International Massage Week in 2003, chair massages were given to local businesses to collect bags of food for the Hunger & Homeless Commission in Lowell, MA. I volunteered post-race massages at the Finish Line at the Boston Marathon from 2002-2004. That was a goal I set for myself as a reward for graduating massage school.

When I moved to Georgia, the passion for volunteering hasn't diminished. Through the American Breast Cancer Society, I am committed to see women celebrate More Birthdays™, and captained a team with Making Strides for Breast Cancer and the American Breast Cancer Society.

Join our Team and walk with us! The Atlanta Shortstops participate at the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk every October at Atlantic Station or walk with us in spirit by sending your donations to the American Cancer Society!
